Terms of Service

The terms on which this website is provided, and how they relate to the agreements that govern an actual payments relationship. Last updated 23 August 2026.

These terms

These terms apply to your use of this website. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

They govern the WEBSITE. They are not the terms of any payments, equipment or funding arrangement — those live in the agreements that set the arrangement up, and where anything on this page appears to conflict with a signed agreement, the signed agreement governs.

What the information here is, and is not

Everything on this website is general information about services Highline Payments arranges. None of it is an offer, a quotation, a commitment to provide any service, or advice on which of them is right for a particular business.

Specifically, and because these are the points that matter:

  • No page here quotes a processing rate. What a business pays depends on its card mix, average ticket and channel split, and is established from a review of its own statements.
  • Any savings figure produced by a calculator on this site is an estimate, generated from the values entered, for illustration only. It is not a quotation and it is not a prediction.
  • Nothing on this site is an offer of credit. Equipment financing and business funding are subject to underwriting and approval, and no amount, term or approval is implied anywhere on it.
  • A merchant account is opened only after underwriting, and approval is never guaranteed. Nothing on this site is an application, an approval, or a commitment to provide an account.
  • Diagrams, illustrative amounts and device imagery on this site are illustrative. They are not real merchant data and they are not a specification of what will be supplied.

Using this website

You may read this website, and use its contact form to contact us. You may not use it to send unlawful, abusive or deliberately false material, to attempt to gain access to any part of it you have not been given access to, to interfere with its operation, or to extract its content in bulk by automated means.

The contact form is rate limited, and messages that trip its automated defenses may not reach us. If something you sent has gone unanswered, send it again rather than assuming it was ignored.

What you send us

You are responsible for what you submit, and you confirm that you are entitled to send it. Do not send card numbers, bank account details or other sensitive account data through the contact form — it is not a secure channel for them, and no field on it asks for any.

What we do with a message is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Content and trade marks

The design, text, graphics and code of this website belong to Highline Payments or to its licensors, and are protected by the laws that protect such things. You may read and print pages for your own business use; you may not republish, sell or systematically copy them.

Card network marks, partner names and third-party product names that appear on this site are the property of their respective owners. Their appearance is descriptive and does not imply endorsement in either direction.

The same applies to third-party material of every kind — product photography, illustrations, brochures, datasheets and specifications. Those remain the property of the rights holder they belong to, and their presence here does not transfer any right in them to Highline Payments or to you.

Naming a manufacturer, network, gateway or software provider says that the product or service is something Highline Payments can arrange. It does not say that Highline Payments owns it, is owned by them, is their agent, or holds any authorization, certification or exclusive appointment beyond what is actually in place. Where a specific relationship matters to you, ask and it will be described accurately.

Third-party services and links

Payment processing involves banks, acquirers, card networks, gateways and equipment suppliers. Where a service is provided by one of those parties it is subject to that party's own terms, and this website does not vary them.

Where this site links to somewhere else, it does so for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.

Applications, approval and the agreements that govern

Everything Highline Payments arranges — a merchant account, equipment, a payment gateway, equipment financing, working capital, a merchant cash advance or term funding — begins with an application and is subject to underwriting and approval. An application may be approved, declined, or approved on terms different from those discussed. Nothing on this website is an offer of credit or of financing, and nothing on it guarantees an approval, an amount, a cost, a duration or a timescale.

The agreement governs. Where an arrangement proceeds, the controlling document is the agreement you execute for it. That agreement — not this website — establishes the amount, the pricing, the term, the payment or remittance obligation, the fees, what happens on default, the remedies available, and how and when it can be canceled or terminated. Where anything on this site appears to conflict with it, the executed agreement governs.

What that means in practice. You are responsible for reading the agreements you sign and for meeting the obligations you accept in them. If an obligation matters to you, confirm that it is written in the document before signing rather than after — a term described in a conversation and absent from the paperwork is not a term.

And what it does not mean. This page does not add a fee, a charge, a penalty or a consequence that your agreement does not contain. Any amount payable on early termination, default, cancellation or breach is whatever that agreement provides for, together with whatever applicable law provides — and no figure for any of those appears anywhere on this website.

Some documents in an arrangement are provided by another party — a bank, a processor, an equipment supplier or a funder. Those carry that party's own terms, which this website does not vary.

Promotional offers

Highline Payments runs promotional offers from time to time — a welcome bonus, an equipment offer, a seasonal program. Where an offer appears on this website, the following applies to it in addition to anything the offer itself says.

  • Promotions are temporary. An offer runs for a period, and that period may end before you see the page, apply, or complete an application.
  • Eligibility conditions apply. An advertised offer is not a promise to every applicant. Qualification depends on the conditions of the offer and on underwriting and approval, and an application that is declined does not qualify for an offer attached to it.
  • Availability may be limited. Where an offer is limited in number, in region, in category or in time — including on a first-come, first-served basis — the offer says so, and it is available only while it lasts.
  • The offer's own terms govern it. Where a specific promotion states conditions, those conditions control. This clause is the general frame around them, not a substitute for them.
  • Offers are not combinable unless the offer says so.

Changing or ending an offer. Highline Payments may modify, suspend, extend or end a promotion, and may correct an error in how one was described, at any time before the offer is accepted — subject to applicable law and to the terms of the offer itself. Where a benefit has already been earned under an accepted offer, that benefit is governed by the offer's terms and by the agreement it forms part of, and this clause does not remove it.

Where an offer's terms are still being finalised, the offer says so on its face. Treat a figure shown alongside that statement as an illustration of what the offer is about rather than as a commitment, and ask for the conditions in writing before relying on it.

Cash discount, surcharging and convenience fees

A cash discount program, a surcharge and a convenience fee are three different things with three different sets of rules, and this website describes them as such rather than as names for the same product. A program posts one price and discounts it for cash; a surcharge adds to a posted price when a card is used; a convenience fee is charged for using an alternative payment channel.

How any of them may be operated depends on applicable law, on card network rules, on the program a merchant is set up under and on how prices are displayed and disclosed at the point of sale. Those rules differ between states and between networks and they change.

Nothing on this website states that a particular configuration is permitted for a particular business in a particular place, and nothing on it is legal advice. A merchant operating one of these programs is responsible for the disclosures, signage and pricing displays that apply to it, and it is worth confirming those with your own advisor before launching and reviewing them periodically afterwards.

Chargebacks and dispute support

Where Highline Payments supports a merchant with chargebacks and disputes, what is provided is process: notification, help identifying the records that answer the reason given, and a response submitted within the window the card network sets.

The outcome is not ours to decide. A dispute is determined by the issuing bank and the card network, and nothing on this website promises that a chargeback will be prevented, reduced, recovered or won, or that any particular proportion of disputes will succeed. Where early-warning or alert services are available at all, availability and coverage depend on the program an account is on and on the operator of the service.

Where dispute support forms part of an arrangement, what is provided is set out in the terms of that arrangement.

Availability and changes

We try to keep this website available and accurate, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and it may be unavailable for maintenance. Content, services and these terms may change; the current version is the one published here, and the date at the top of this page is the date it was last amended.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Highline Payments is not liable for loss arising from reliance on general information published on this website. That is not a disclaimer of everything — nothing here excludes or limits liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Obligations that arise under a signed agreement are governed by that agreement, and this page does not reduce them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Highline Payments is established, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Where a specific arrangement — processing, equipment or funding — has its own agreement, the governing law and dispute-resolution provisions of that agreement apply to it in place of this clause.
